In a groundbreaking, totally-not-violent development, tech startup “Neighborly Knockouts” has launched the first-ever app that allows users to virtually punch their annoying neighbors, because nothing says community like a good old-fashioned (digital) uppercut.

The app, affectionately named “Punch Pal”, promises to revolutionize neighborly disputes. Whether it’s the lady with the barking dog at 2 a.m., the guy who turns his driveway into a parking lot for random relatives, or the overzealous suburban dad with a leaf blower fetish, you can now channel your frustration into a perfectly legal, pixelated punchfest.

Here’s how it works: Users upload a photo of their neighbor (or, for legal reasons, a “neighbor-like figure”), and the app uses advanced AI to create a disturbingly lifelike avatar. From there, users can unleash their frustrations by selecting a variety of punches, ranging from the classic jab to the “you-stole-my-Amazon-package haymaker.” For premium subscribers, there’s even a slow-motion replay option, complete with a soundtrack of your choice.

“We wanted to create a way for people to resolve conflicts in a safe, non-physical manner,” said app developer and apparent conflict resolution expert, Tony Smackwell. “Also, we just thought it would be really funny.”

The app has already garnered rave reviews. “Finally, I can ‘punch’ Linda from next door without breaking parole!” one user wrote. Another reviewer shared, “I’m up to Level 10 with Gary from the HOA. My thumb is sore, but my soul is at peace.”

Of course, not everyone is thrilled. Critics argue that Punch Pal encourages pettiness, hostility, and a shocking lack of emotional maturity. In response, the developers rolled out a feature called “Hug Mode”, where users can also give their neighbors a virtual hug. But as of this writing, the feature remains completely unused.
